Meet Our Dogs
Meet Arlo,
he is my first Standard Schnauzer and the spark that lit my passion for the breed ablaze. Although he is not part of my breeding program his influence on me, and hopefully the breed, will live on for many generations. Arlo is the quintissential Standard Schnauzer in so many ways. He is friendly yet guards our home tirelessly. He's a born comedian but his drive to work and play leaves nothing to be desired. Even though he is not able to participate in trials in order to earn titles, he is working through the virtual ranks of Rally and is an accomplished Recaller's alumni and backyard agility star. He excels at nosework and will give any terrier a run for their money in barn hunt. He lives to train and would go all day if we asked him to. He is an excellent companion and accompanies our family in all the activities we love to do in Colorado. He swims, he bikes, he hikes, he literally does it all. We absolutely adore him.
Why Should I Care if a Dog is a Champion?
Choosing a companion puppy from proven champion lines is not about titles, trophies, or showing; it is about predictability and peace of mind. Purebred dog show titles—whether in conformation, performance, or sport—are an objective, third-party validation that a puppy's parents physically and mentally conform to the standard of their breed. Breeders who invest in proving their breeding stock through competition demonstrate a commitment to health testing, sound structural temperament, and genetic predictability. For a family seeking "just a pet," this translates directly to a companion that is far more likely to possess the stable disposition, correct energy level, and robust physical health required to thrive in a home environment. Purchasing from champion lines means investing in generations of intentional, ethical decisions designed to minimize inherited diseases and behavioral instability, giving your pet the best possible foundation for a long, happy life by your side.
Meet Kismet,
Ch Straw Hat Light My Love. She came to live with us in Colorado in 2026. She is the foundation of my breeding program. She is a female with good body and a correct coat. She is an AKC champion and Owner Handled group placing winner. She comes from a long line of both performance and conformation champions of the Straw Hat, Halcyon, and Arbor kennels. She is the best of all worlds. She is beautiful, very athletic and yet a total cuddle bug. She has never met a stranger and is exceptionally kind and gentle.
Now Kismet is moving on from her conformation work and into performance sports. Like every good Standard Schnauzer, she LOVES to train. After earning her CGC (canine good citizen) she is starting in nosework and Rally. She will likely start in agility after she complete's her Recaller's training. We are excited for our future with this special girl!
